Just found out about these:
EnChroma colour vision correcting glasses I took the colour vision test and got the result that my vision is Strong Deutan. Strong deutans (“doo-tans”) have a strong red-green color blindness caused by an anomaly in the M-cone photopigment gene sequence. I have known I had a colour deficiency for years and was previously told I was 'shade-blind' (where it was described to me that those paints that are "white with a hint of colour" would all look white to me) but i now feel I need to get it checked out by a proper optometrist. I am interested in these glasses, but it is a lot of cash to blow on something that does not fundamentally impede my day today life. I do wonder what I'm missing though... ![]()

Crikey, that's very interesting! The only contribution (as a painter) that I can make is to point out that red and green are what are known as "complementary" colours, meaning "opposites" (for a clear explanation of this, see this link):
http://painting.about.com/od/artglos...ompcolours.htm This would suggest that you'd really benefit from anything that helped you to distinguish them visually, although there must be people who are less affected than others. (PS: can you see through ladies' clothing with these glasses? If so, maybe we could all get some and negotiate a Subsim discount)
