Default SH3 Commander issues

Just downloaded this, and I loved it back then, and I know I will like it now. But I have a few issues. Note, I did read the help button but I want your opinion.

First, what I have running:
GWX3
OLC MK2 GOLD
Draggable chrono for OLC GOLD
Pascal port people
das boot clothes

now when I first installed this, and played my game, no problem, I did not adjust anything or check anything off in the SH3 com screen, but I figured that was boring, so I made a few changes:

Wave height to seasonal
crew transfers in/out
gramophone shuffle

that was it. when I went back to play it, the sky was weird, it was daytime, my boat and crew lit up like normal daytime standards but the sky was not blue, it was like night time with stars showing and such...real weird!

I chalked this up to me turning on the SH3 mods in patrol, I uninstall and reinstall, the problem is fixed.

My question: When can I safely change mods around? Can I do this in port? or never once a career starts?

Also, if the sky issue happens again, is there a better way to fix this outside of uninstalling?

thank you.
