Start downloading Oberon!

I was going to check out the new Orbiter beta that has been released (check out Orbiter forum for details), until I came across this, lol This is the hi-res textures (which are optional BTW) for Earth alone, not any other planets. It will take quite a while for me to download them, that's for sure! Will take the resolution level to 19. But 21 GB to download for earth alone, is a bit much I think! They look awesome though!

Whoa!

I really must get back into Orbiter again, it's been years since I last took a bash at it.

I'm not sure if it's not against subsim's rules to chop down a member into bits and bytes, put him into a cable and download him. Though I think an Oberon.exe will only run on a British OS - or even worse turn my Kraut-comp into a Tommy-PC. *shudder*

You need tea.dll in order to run Oberon.exe or you'll get an error.

Besides, people already complain over in GT that I'm too PC.

Might be easier to check out these screenshots of what's coming instead of dling the beta. There is a red button in the middle of each screenshot, it is actually a slider to move to the right side of the shot, so you can see the detail of the new textures that are coming in the future!

I have the greentea.dll and the mate.dll here - but I when I put them into the same directory as milk.dll my comp crashes. Besides when searching for the humour-plugin, I only got the "Verboten!" screeen and a message to report to the authorities.

Our plans to plant the seed (or corpse) of Marxism in London finally worked out.

Sounds like tea has been banned in the post-war constitution of Germany, that means that it can't actually be displayed in games. You can download a patch for this, 'Coffee.exe', which will overwrite the tea.dll files with a more acceptable software.

Once on another forum people speculated if I were a KGB run AI due to my rapid responses in simultaneous threads... For 3 days without any breaks.

That was tiresome and totally not worth it .

I think one definitely needs broadband internet to download Oberon.
Download speed 0,5 kg/s.

Well I bet Oberon is written in some high level language and thus has poor low level optimisation... hence the broad band requirement.

I on the other hand was written purely in C/Algon, making me a horrible, horrible person.

Nah, I'm coded in basic, but was poorly optimised for modern systems. The longer I run the more RAM I eat.
