Had major hard drive crash have SH III I understand that I have to patch to 1.4 and then I have commander and Grey wolfs final product. Question someone mentioned that there is now a futher patch above 1.4 is that correct if so what does it do for your game and does it impact the sequence of install items above thanks for answer I have a new win 8.1 box

Guys I am attempting to reinstall SH III after a crash (hard drive) I had SHIII patched to 1.4 then I had GW and SH commander added on and loved it. If I patch to 1.6 will this impact my attempts to get back to GWX ver 3.0 and SH commander ver3.2 in any manner? ??????????

There is no official SH3 patch past 1.4b. BL!TZKR!EG is promoting his own mod, and while a good mod, is creating confusion to those who are just getting up to speed with the sim, and what they have to have to play it.

P.S. 1.4b is actually the 1.4 patch, 1.4 itself was never released.

HW3, you are correct that there is no official patch beyond v1.4b, and that could certainly confuse some newcomers. But the V1.6b patch is not BK's. The patches are all the work of h.sie and Stiebler, and a great piece of work. BK is working on an automated installer for the patches, but AFAIK that is not yet ready for the street. And, without the automated installer, the patches should only be installed by gamers with good computer skills and some familiarity with SH3 program organization.

I think I will stick to patch 1.4b and then install GWX and SH COmmander to get back to my pre crash posture. I will tackle 1.6 at later date
