If you ever see one at an air show Jim, get plenty of pics! I would love to hear how it sounds on a flyby!

Years ago, when there was still one flying here in the UK, my wife and I were walking high up on the North Downs near Halling when that very aircraft came roaring straight down the long country road towards us at seemingly treetop height.
It was autumn and a dramatic windy day, and the vision and sound of the thing remains for both of us (she still talks about it now.) Not so long after that I learned it had crashed. |

I read that the Mossies flown in the Pacific had to use a diffrent glue compound. They also recived the gray tone as it was more reflective to sunlight. I would think the hard part about keeping one flying would be the integrity of the wood. I doubt there is a true 100% orignal air worthy survivor. Still one even with some rebuilt sections is impressive.

That's true of many airworthy types. I've read that out of the hundreds of DC-3s still in the air, not more than a handful contain any original parts at all. Technically they are no longer "originals". But they are very real.

No problem, I know someone who is part of the restoration team for aircraft TA122 at the DH Aircraft Heritage Centre and he keeps me updated regarding events.
