ok sailers. im on patrol 3 its oct 19 of 1939. chased one medium size cargo ship but turned out to be a usa ship and they are neutral at the time so I did not fire upon it. I got a message from the bdu that said CONVOY SIGHTED INBOUND. MODERATELY ESCORTED BE3366. how do I decipher that. is be3366 the location. does that mean grid BE33 or what does that mean. also is there any video tutorials on intercepting a ship. I mean how to plot lines and etc. thanks mates

BE3366 is just directly off the SW coast of Ireland's western approaches. By using the NORD -ATLATISCHER OZEAN map in all three levels you are down to six nautical miles (OVERALL)

Assumimg you have gwx installed you get a kmh to kts conversion chart that you pull down from the top left hand corner. You can use that to plot the position of the target hour to hour. Change course and speed accordingly to try and get ahead of the target with aob 90 degrees and fire away. Otherwise use a kts to kmh conversion tool or calculate it yourself. Then use the distance speed and time formula triangle to calculate any unknowns.

In all likelihood it is a historical message. Accordingly there is no guarantee that there actually is a convoy in the game that you can intercept. When you see a convoy near you it normally shows up as a large block and you can click on it and see its approximate heading and speed.

Update. still on patrol 3. down to 8 eels. I just sunk a large cargo for a tonnage of 10000. I had a hard time getting her to go down. More questions though lol. I had to send a radio message back to bdu to see how many torpedos I still have left. I know how to see how many shells I have left for my guns but don't see anywhere where it shows how many torpedos are left

Hello,
Pressing the "i" key also displays your current number of torpedoes, flak, and deck gun ammunition. Good luck. |
