Default Need help tracking down a game.

Anybody know where I can find a reasonably priced copy of Richard Burns Rally? I've seen new copies on eBay for up to 1500$...if they're not new, they're from some unreliable looking seller. Amazon is nearly no help.

Could use some help.

I saw that website but I'm unsure it's a reliable source.

Looks somewhat reliable. Almost looks like a UK version of GoG...

Figured it was a little sketchy.

I'm thinking about getting a Logitech G25 (Basically the same as the G27 but cheaper....and it has a sequential transmission option) and I would very much like to get RBR...

Colin McRae Rally 2005 would be another one but that's easier to find.

I bought Colin McRae's DiRT this week for the Xbox...absolutely love it but disappointed that the Ford Focus RS WRC isn't in it. Neither is the Fiesta.

Definitely going to try and get my hands on a G25 regardless.

From Amazon UK £19.99

In truth, the other link is not a site I would like to deal with had I an alternative choice.

Yeah I miss the Colin titles they actually had complete routes as did the old WRC titles unlike anything recent. It was fun to try and keep the car together. Dont know much about Richard Burns I assume it has more depth.

Richard Burns Rally is supposed to be THE best rally game as far as realism and physics, etc. Also supposed to be one of the hardest racing sims to master.

They only made the one because Richard Burns died in 2005. Colin McRae's games are still continuing with DiRT...but they don't carry his name anymore.

RBR still is the best rally game out there, period. CMR 1-3 I knew, and it does not really compare it to, it is too arcadish. WRC also does not catch up with it, I read.

But be warned, RBR is difficult. Driving slower makes you faster. Also it has the adde3d value of having you living long enough to see the finishing line.

Set up your hardware well, the pedals. Give especially the brakes lots of easiness, you do not want a linear reaction curve, but one that allows you to use much of the movement axis with little reaction, and the maximum effects only spiking if pressing the pedal to the max. The wheel should have a total turning angle of maybe 300°. Not 900°...!!!

The looks of the Japanese stages imo still are awesome.

Check for this immense mod.

http://forum.rallyesim.fr/viewtopic.php?f=349&t=13886

It is huge in size, but adds many additional stages and cars. However, not few people find it difficult to get it running on modern Windows systems. You also need this mod if you want true widescreen. I did not manage to get this version running for me, but I have AC, so I'm safe anyway. But I had a verision of this mod two years ago, or three, and it worked back then. It was very good, a must have.

Without the mod, RBR should work out of the box for you, though with 4:3 screen.

Entering and playing with a profile named "Mulligatawny" will unlock all tracks, so that you can choose freely.
