Default Sh5 crash help requested

Hey folks, so as I mentioned in another post I got SH5 last week. But it has not been fun, not in the slightest specifically because the game keeps crashing for no apparent reason.

Sh4 with multiple mods runs great 99% of the time and once in while gets a crash or a save corruption that i can simply avoid with an earlier save. However with sh5 I simply cannot get past the the first campaign mission "Total Germany" and I have had to start multiple careers because each one ends up either corrupt or simply crashing at load.

I am using no mods, have been having BEX errors and other crashes and even having it simply lock up during loading. The rig I have is.....well a bit of a beast and its paired back with almost no non essentials. My system is fully updated with all relevant windows 7 (64) updates and driver/mobo files and the game is patched to 1.2

Really dont know wth is going on, and im usually pretty good at finding culprits for this kind of thing but im at a loss. And fyi I read the other crashing threads and I do not have the c++ package mentioned as the cause for those ones so thats out.

Halp?

EDIT* Further info - Event viewer shows several kinds of errors for SH5; Sh5.exe crash, SHact crash, kernel.dll and MSVCR90.dll crashes. You would think my system was corrupted or something with the way its going on but nope, this thing is in reality pretty bullet proof.

Soo being the dilligent type I am further digging has revealed the C++ crashes are due to it using a version that didnt come with the game. Even though I put in the game version package, its been using .6161 from the same year. Ive removed it and made sure the games .17 version is in place. I can only hope this helps.

Yes this install is the second one in just over a week. Both have had the same crashing problems. Tbh Ive gave up and gone back to Sh4, since there is no point me playing SH5 atm. After a week of ownership the furthest ive been in the game is on patrol near the UK and back. Anything more and it crashes. And now every game I start crashes within a few mins of getting near the UK coast.

Pretty much gonna have to shelve it till I can figure out wth it is about my rig that it hates. Its a real shame because despite a few issues I have with it, it feels like a bloody good game and it looks superb,

Have you tried to run it as an administrator or in compabilty mode for Windows XP? Sometimes that solves the issue. Otherwise you should get in touch with Ubisoft support via https://support.ubi.com/en-us/ they should be able to help you.

Hi Lexandro

What path is your game installed on?

You are patched to v1.2?

You are not using any mods?

Are you a Steam user?

There will be a logical answer to your ctd's.

Need to get some information to start with.

Its a dedicated games folder on C

As I said earlier, patched to 1.2 and no mods and using and old disc version from amazon. Crashes have "stabilised" to just BEX errors with MSVCR90.dll. In my experience that happens with corrupted or erronous data either with the systems C++ install or the games implementation of it.

Since the other titles I have using the same 2008/2010/2012 packages run properly and without issue (including Sh4) im going to go out on a limb here and say either I have a defective disc/installer or something is corrupting the data in the game files. I know someone will suggest contacting Ubisoft, but that would be pointless as Ubisoft customer support is......well pretty non existent. Ive already contacted them in the past with other titles (most memorably with HAWX) and been told basically to GTFO as there is nothing they will do.

So for now until I can verify this install in another system Sh5 is shelved.
