Default Independant engine control while schnorkeling

Hi I been playing with the late equipement and trying different combinations of patches and mods managed to get the schnorkel to work and recharge the batteries. It also airs the boat out too. Oxygen and CO2.

This is the first time I have been able to play any Silent hunter game with a schnorkel that works. In SH3 and SH4 IIRC I could recharge the batteries but not air the boat so it was impossible to go many days without surfacing...

Now with the independant engine control You can even run the left engine at high RPM to charge the batteries as fast as possible and run the right engine low RPM so you cruise at 8knts.

I'm surprised to see this all works in game right now. In this screen shot the left propeller is stopped and the left engine is running full speed ahead to recharge the batteries and the right engine is running slow ahead to turn the propeller.

I'm not sure if the engine recharge rate is linked to the diesel engine RPM though.

Playing with the dive planes is interesting too. If we had manual control of the Main Ballast Tanks we could adjust the boat to have small positive buoyancy user the dive planes and engines to control the depth just as was done in real life. At the moment the MBT are automatic and if I try to take the boat lower than the set depth using dive planes and engine power, compressed air is automatically used to increase buoyancy and stop me from going deeper.

I still haven't downloaded TDW's UI yet. Does his UI give manual control of MBT?
