had an issue that after installing GWX 3.0 and running a couple of missions it kicked my save game file out on to my desktop,no idea how to put it back.

The SH3 folder containing game settings and your single game and carreer savegames should be located in your Documents folder. There is no way the game puts it elsewhere. You must have accidentaly draged it into your desktop somehow.
