So I thought I had a fool-proof way to tell if something was a neutral or not. Well, another fool-proof way.
I figured if I made my gunners fire at will, they would not fire at ships that are not enemies. I approached a couple of ships last night, green flag, yellow diamond, but wasn't sure who they were and didn't feel like going and digging through the recognition manual. So I set my gunners to fire at will, and they did. As they were sinking the ships, I looked at the manual and saw it was Brazil. They are not enemies until 1942, and it was 1941. But I figured they were shooting at it, so it must be enemy. Well, I get home and see they were neutrals. So I'm guessing your gunners will shoot at anything? The other fool-proof way to figure out if they are enemies or not is watch the TC. Steve |

Don't you have the "flag" pull-down? That is the most fool proof method.

My fool-proof way is to submerge and get close enough to visually identify the flag.
If I can't do that, I let it go.
