 I recall sending an email to the MOD suggesting this sort of thing, although it wasn't done via Oculus Rift, clever thinking those Norwegians.  Eventually it can be upgraded to give real time information about force position and composition integrating with C3 to give the driver and commander a full augmented 360 view of the battlefield.
