We're all living on borrowed time

This does not surprise me in the least

http://m.newyorker.com/online/blogs/...ntcid=obinsite
And this article only mentions the US and Russia. Think about the next 10 year's as India, Pakistan, Iran, who knows becomes ICBM capable.

You sure you included the correct link? Those 13 most blogged essays of the year have little to say on ICBMs, USA and Russia...

Or I miss the point.

Although the Air Force now denies this claim, according to more than one source I contacted, the code necessary to launch a missile was set to be the same at every Minuteman site: 00000000

President Skroob was running the country.

I wouldn't totally discount NK and Saudi Arabia either.

Nuclear Obliteration...

... is the path of the psychopaths.

Destroying the whole planet in an effort to insure mutual destruction is insane in the membrain.

"the code necessary to launch a missile was set to be the same at every Minuteman site: 00000000. "

Crikey, not this again. I guess this establishes the credibility of the article.

At least it wasn't me this time.

So, yeah guys, we debunked this one already:
http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=209554

That being said, some of the things in that article are, I believe, true, in terms of the devolution of battlefield nuclear arms control in the early days of the Cold War, that being said, the only time that they were likely to be used would be during a Soviet invasion of Europe, or if you're Dugout Doug, all over China and North Korea.

Well, is there any credible sources to back that up? I'm not saying it's not true, but I haven't seen anything to doubt it.

The only way to experience nuclear war in a passable circumstance, is to live in or very close to a major primary target.

Some things you better do not want to survive.

Are you kidding? It's my dream to live in a post-nuclear apocalyptic world, where the the rules do not exist, except one: survive. Where men will throw Darwinism into high gear in a landscape of burnt out cities and throngs of rag-tag refugees. Where a single mention of gun control, civil rights, or women's lib would start a mad riot of violence, and orgies would become the new Netflix. No more computers, no more job, no more IRS or Uncle Sam. Just bare existence without any excuses.

Well, come on, doesn't everyone have a dream?

I'm keeping a list of people I'll get if we all survive, knowing I could be on a few myself...

I suppose you could not bother waiting for the nuclear holocaust and just move to Somalia.

Survival of the fittest?

Pffft!

More like pure anarchy and chaos. Wouldn't you say?
Radiation contamination and nuclear winter will not last just a few months. Therefore, mutual destruction doesn't mean just one side or the other. It means Everybody.
It's the age old greedy line of thinking...
"If I or we can't have it nobody can."

I still laugh when I think about those stupid nuclear attack drills we had in school back in the 60's. They should have been more honest with us. Instead of "duck and cover" it should have been " put your head between your knees and kiss your ass goodbye."

<insert link to British nuclear attack documentary here>

Nobody gets out alive bby.
