Default Creaks and groans, screeching optional (REL)

Uploaded a couple sound effects mods for 1.4 and above;

http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/down...o=file&id=4363

Collection of assorted ambient sounds;

Ambient internal background volume reduced to 50%
Hull groaning sounds added to creak wav files
GQ gong changed to 12 repetitions, added metallic reverb and echo.
Increased volume on diving/surfacing water splash sound.

Since I figured there might be some who actually LIKE seagulls in harbors screeching so loud they drown out everything else I uploaded those separately;

http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/down...o=file&id=4362

Reduces all seagull screeching volume to 10% of original.

Thanks for the new sounds, am I the only one who thinks the ones in the stock versions of the SH series were done weird? like how your boat "creaks" as if near crush depth...when you're 40 feet beneath the surface?

Don't get me started on that. I originally assumed with four "creak" wavs they would play while passing certain depths, 1 shallow up to 4 really deep. Then discovered 1 through 4 are selected at random, worse still they don't play while changing depth, just random selections at random times. So steady cruising at periscope depth (when the pressure on the hull is CONSTANT for crying out loud) they play random selections at random times. So my original "loud - louder - loudest - I want my mommy!" had to be toned WAY down or it was just silly.

Tried them. I love them. Great sounds. Really eerie with headphones. Strong work Sniper.

Thanks, strong influence from Das Boot - loud metal agony and bolts shearing off would have been nice at deep depths if the blasted game was programmed properly. They included a really good flooding and blowing ballast tanks effect too, but near as I can tell neither of those are used in the game. There are 90 sound files dated 2003, none of those appear to be used, probably leftovers from SH3.
