Has anybody watched the movie Below.
It's a combination subwar and horror movie. Good quality video footage. I was hooked from the first scene with the PBY flying patrol. The details and footage was excellent. Watch this movie on a large screen with Blueray. Kickass!! Pretty good plot for a horror movie. No stupid running around screaming. First time ever in a sub movie that I have seen grappling hooks used. What a nasty weapon. Can't see it being much good unless you know your in shallow water. My only gripe about the movie was that they never did any torpedo attacks. Only ran from a destroyer the whole movie. I like the detail of the sub's interior. Lots of realistic brass hatches were they belong. All controls visible. Some might say the movie sucked but hey it was a horror flick basically but I think everything to do with the sub, interior and exterior structure design was great. Loved when they showed how you drop down into the battery compartment and showed the high level reading from the nitrogen the batteries gave off in those days or when they went outside underwater to go into the ballast tanks to look for the oil leak. The sub is the U.S.S. Silversides (SS-236) docked on Lake Michigan. She had 14 patrols in WW2. This is were she sits today. Anybody ever been on her? ![]()
