The amazing part is the dolphin knew to go to the people to get the fishing line off. He wasn't afraid and was cooperative. Very unusual with animals, even pets.

I would suspect this dolphin is in a area that has humans frequenting quite a bit. Snorkeling and diving. He has grown accustom to our presence and found we are somehow helpful if not for a scratch but maybe a fish or two to eat.
