Default New here, lots of questions

As the title says, I am new both here and to Silent Hunter 3, and have a lot of questions. I most likely won't be on here often due to schoolwork and homework, but if you experienced guys could help me out, that would be great.

Thanks. I know for a fact that I'd like to get GWX3, but have no way to download it. Also, is there a way to get it without changing the interface from the original game?

So, due to that I won't be playing with GWX3 (unless you can put it on a USB and put it on a different computer??), I'd like to ask about the stock version of the game. For example, I was playing a 1943 campaign from Bergen, grid AM14. Went over the top of England, but had absolutely NO contacts until around Scapa Flow, those only being warships. Any clues?

No reason why you shouldn't. The unzipped single file is in its own installer, and is only 1.31 GB.

As for not finding any ships on the British east coast, it's been so long I don't remember, but the stock game is sorely lacking.

Another example just occured to me: There have been many people who were not in a position to download. Several of us have sent copies to them on disc. So yeah, it shouldn't be a problem.

It has been a long, long time since I played stock SH3. Part of me says you should do it just to know how much work went into the mods.

The mods totally change the game. One of my favorites is the simple mod "Torpdeo Damage Final 2" so you can actually see damage when you torpedo a ship.

GWX totally changes the game. Aircraft are merely a nuisance otherwise. They are at best mission-enders in GWX. At worst they are career-enders.

There is more variety in ships.

I highly recommend GWX.

Also SH3 Commander.
