OK, this just started happening 2 days ago, but it's happened at least 6 times now. My SOP for aircraft contacts is to do a quick plot to see if it's going to come within 6 miles of me (shorter if cloudy or twilight). If it is, I go to periscope depth with my air search radar boom raised. My scopes are both down. Normally, I'll track the aircraft from about 10 miles out and wait until it's at least 6 miles away before surfacing.
The last couple of days, planes that I'm tracking disappear. This has happened at ranges varying from within 200 yards to 2 miles of my position. The blip just stops and fades out like it does when an object goes out of radar range. I raise my scope, no aircraft. I surface, and the aircraft that should have been immediately spotted is just NOT there. So have the special operators I've dropped off at the coast been messing with the AV Gas supply to make the planes fall out of the sky, or do I have a bug here.
