The big soccer (fine, association football) clubs outside of the Bundesliga and especially in Spain are actually in horrible financial shape right now. This article is slightly older, but its getting worse, not better.

As much as people often joke about baseball players getting the big bucks (Prince Fielder has a bigger contract than any soccer player out there?!) Its actually the soccer players that are on the whole overpaid. The clubs cant afford this level of spending anymore.

PS: I genuinely wish Madrid would sell their souls to Microsoft, call themselves the Developers or Surface Dwellers or something.

PPS: what is my favorite team? DYNAMO DRESDEN! BEST IN THE WORLD! (Guy in my dorm is from Dresden, wakes up early to catch their games)
