Default Hydrophones crash to desktop

Hello, guys. I'm having an issue with the hydrophones causing a crash-to-desktop as soon as it looks at a ship.

This started in the OH-II campaign off the eastern coast of Großbritannien while I was looking for merchants on the hydrophone. Everything was working normally until I picked up a merchant and the audio for the screws noise was terribly garbled. It didn't just sound strange--it was very obviously not being rendered properly by the game, or something to that effect.

In an attempt to remedy the problem I closed the game and restarted it, loading from a save which was made about 10 minutes previously. After submerging and getting on the hydrophones, I slowly started rotating the wheel around to look for contacts. As soon as the bearing needle points in a certain area (presumably at a ship/the same ship), the game immediately CTD's. This happens consistently every time I load from the save.

I did a bit of searching and found a fix for this made a very long time ago, but the author of the thread says it was integrated into TDW's UI mod at some point and is no longer necessary.

The only thing I could suspect is that the sound file for the ship is missing.

Could it be that the Das Boot Sound Mod contains merchant shipping sounds that some mod like RPM tries to call? I'm at my wits end from this problem!

Is there a log file of some kind? If the game is throwing an error maybe I could see what it is.

Check the if any sound mods are causing conflicts, but try removing all sound mods the putting them back in one by one, and if their is a conflict, that could be the cause.
