Installation Problems (Help)
Allo all.
I recently purchased SH4 on GamersGate, but I have encountered a problem. When I install the game, I get the option to launch the game, it launchers successfully but as soon as I exit out I can't find where I am supposed to launch the game. I checked my Uplay and tried to activate the serial key and that did not work, I also tried activating the keys on Steam. A program called Game Shadow installed with the game, I am assuming this is where I am supposed to launch it but when I try to launch the program it tried to update and then fails. Has anyone else purchased their game on Gamersgate, if so have they encountered this problem and if so do they know how to fix it? I have contacted GamerGate support asking for a refund ( I am able to get one in the event they are not able to fix the problem with the game ). So if they do allow me to get a refund I may just buy the game on Steam. Thanks! |

I installed my copy under Win7 (not from GamersGate, rather Amazon) with default path settings, and to find the launcher icon for the game, I can go to the All Programs button, then look for the Games folder, click that folder icon and then I'm able to see the SHIV icon. Once you click it and launch the game, after you are finished playing you may find that Windows has created a new icon for the game in your main application menu. If you like you may then pin this to that menu and it will always be there within easy reach. Another alternative is to right click your desktop and chose New from the drop down menu, then shortcut, and find the .exe file from the game, then add the shortcut to your desktop. To do this you will need to browse the files on your hard drive with some idea where to look, depending on the path you set for the installer. C:/Program Files (x86)/Ubisoft/Silent Hunter 4 Wolves of the Pacific is mine. Find the .exe file in that folder, and select it, and the new short cut will appear on your desktop.
