Default What is sea level? - The complexity of an apparently easy question

Brilliant.

Any questions...?

Many more lessons linked at the end.

The correct answer to the question is that sea level varies depending on the level of one inebriation.

Many people think that when they observe an intoxicated person vomit it is because the body is attempting to get rid of the alcohol. In truth the vomiting is merely a method by which the brain can measure what the sea level is by measuring the time span between expulsion and contact with the ground. The more intoxicated a person becomes the more often they have to take a measurement.Sometimes it is necessary to get closer to the ground to acquire a more accurate measurement.

Now that I'm aware that I'm on an elliptoid oblate spinning sphere I've amended all documents pertaining therof to my height to state 6' instead of 5' 9&3/4" (about two hands) as it is more appealing to women generally to think of their men as 'handsome six footers' as opposed to 'seemly dwarves' they can make do with until Mr Wonderful enters their lives...

I am totally going to remember this and use it on a few people I know.

But I think the interaction with the set level of a porcelain receptacle may influence the measurement?

That depends on the gravity of the porcelain receptacle.

Or could the porcelain receptacle have an anti-gravity effect that allows the original theory to be correct?
Thus allowing the often noticed raise of the body to interact with the porcelain receptacle at critical moments?

Tide goes in tide goes out, scientists can't explain that.

Funny you should mention the Carrots.

But do we really want to go there just yet?
We need to solve the hypothetical issue with toilets/sea level first.

It may have an unknown effect for the carrots showing up thing based on what your local Gravitational pull index is.

The carrots affect the specific gravity of the vomit so will need to be taken into account.

I'm only sure of one thing....it doesn't matter what you've eaten, carrots always appear
