It was only going to get bigger, heavier, and most likely more dangerous. There are several times in that video that the photographer was lucky not to lose an eye or worse, and he was quite well restrained in his actions - now imagine a ten-year-old v the elk and the results could quite easily be very different and a lynch mob rather than park rangers would've been the fate.

Of course a managed move may have been the best option, but hey, it's 2013 and that would cost a couple of hundred bucks, if not thousands on top of whatever the actual cost was, every dept. scrimping and saving meant it was unfortunately not going to happen.

I'm glad any funds raised are going to worthy associated causes, but my cynicism prevents me from thinking that visitors will no longer feed wild animals.
