Default Coffin-Dodgers Guide to Gaming

I have a massive collection of games from the dawn of the hobby right up to about 2008 - by which time everything new seemed to require a Steam account or at the very least on-line authentication. I just wanted to hear about/list older games not requiring either, but which are still massively enjoyable to play, despite things having moved on (simulators not included)

My absolute tops would include the "Hidden & Dangerous" series, the "Death to Spies" games, "Prisoner of War", "Oblivion", "Ghost Recon AWF", "Manhunt", the "Stalker" games, the "FEAR" games and Battlefield Bad Company 2"

I have many many more but these above I would describe as my housefire titles

Oblivion...! My entry into the open wonderworld of Bethesda games. Next I learned Fallout 3, Skyrim, Fallout 4. The online version of The Elder Scrolls I tried, but could not get warm with it.

Fallout 4 I play until today although Bethesda intentionally has broken the modding for it.

The Hunter also was a solid game, in the early years I avoided the Steam version that they came up later with.

I found that beside Fallout 4 my gaming has massively moved to the Quest-3's native games, and here mainly sports games, almost exclusively. Which is welcomed, it makes me independent from PC and Windows 11.

And The Hunter Call of the Wild also is available on Playstation 4+5.

Oblivion has, in my opinion, some of the best writing and stories.

If it were my birthday, I would like a game with the writing/story of Oblivion with the interface of Skyrim.
