Interesting stuff. Especially if you consider the implications of applying the propulsion to that DARPA project we did a few years ago, the sub hunting drone? Imagine one of them, under wing sail, just patrolling the assigned area, and then powering up the diesels to maintain contact on a target.

Definitely an interesting technology use. Question the value of cargo use particularly in smaller craft. The pirates would lap them up . Unless of course they had some drone protection.

They could use some form of that technology to crew the Collins Class perhaps

Well I don't see us getting enough crew to man them so why not. Cybermat won't be joining up now he's see the size of the marker pens.
