Default NASA to be outsourced to India?

http://www.abc.net.au/news/2013-11-0...launch/5071814

Title is a joke of course but very interesting to see how fast and cheaply India has gotten their program off the ground. Of course given the social issues in India there's a lot of criticism over the spend on what is ultimately a not very scientifically important experiment.

No they outsource their support to Africa via tin can and string.

Yes, cheaply - £45m of our very British pounds meant for development - guess we should have specified development within the country.

People here are losing even more patience giving away our money to see it spent either on French aircraft (no offence, at least they still are capable of manufacturing more than a wing and some electronics) or this giant firework.

I don't know what the right answer is, and any I may give will surely offend.

With that attitude? How do you expect to totally dis-rail and hi-jack this thread?

(I'm looking for a heads up here. )

Hey, I didn't get a clue either.

If I had a pound for every time a thread was derailed I'd have enough to spend on a mission to Mars. Damnit, back on track!

Wonder if Indian astronauts will be given hot spiced food, and more importantly will the designers have included super scrubbers to clear the air of noxious fumes. Getting Delhi belly in space would not be a nice experience for the whole crew during the mission.

I'd feel a lot safer in US spacecraft than an Indian one...£45 million is not a lot these days as as already alluded to...even less if the money is given/donated in the first place.

I dunno. At least I don't think the Indians have blown up any of their astronauts yet.

Imagine being confined in a self contained spacesuit after a vindaloo
