NewUI by TheDarkWraith - map preferences

Hi I'm using NEWUIs_7_4_2_ByTheDarkWraith (and Open Horizons II,v2.2)

On the navigation and tactical(?) map I can select the preferences, removing cone showing current facing etc. but when I start the game again and load my save the preferences have gone back to what they were.

I think I read on a post somewhere that I need to change a file type from read only to write, but I can't remember what file and the location of it. Can anyone help?

On a quick side note; a big hats off to the Modders of this world. The Grey Wolves mod for SH3 created possibly one of the best games/sims ever, and how that improved on the standard game is unbeleivable. There are other games that I have benefited from the Modding work, but Grey wolves, that was immense.

Yes, I like Grey Wolves myself. Not worded very well in your post request. You are asking for help in the SH5 mods workshop. I am not insulted but it is my first reaction of how others may feel. Some modders may feel insulted that you are posting in SH5 Mods but saying how great Grey Wolves is. Some modders in SH5 may have developed mods for SH4 or SH3, but others have not. Like throwing salt in a wound! Remember how many years GWX took to be finished, keep that in mind, SH5 may be better someday. Only time will tell.

You have to use OptionsFileEditorViewer to set interface options..
It's located in the NewUIs/data/Applications..

Sorry, no offence meant, I intended just the opposite, i.e. that I respect any work done on games by the modders as it all goes to improve on the original - and is something I don't have the knowledge to do.

I meant for no comparison between SH games. There are other games outside of the SH series that have been transformed as well, perhaps I should have referenced them instead, but figured people would be well aware of the GW on SH3 and know what I meant.

What I'm trying to say is "well done Modders of any games"!

OptionFileEditor is for setting defaults .. being able to change it in-game as the situation calls for, is an added bonus.

I took it as a general compliment. It starts with that. (and I'm not a modder .. just to make that clear)
