Hi,

When making a donation, am I right in thinking that it is a one off payment that gives you that length of membership at that level; it isn't a repeated payment each month?

What level you choose lasts either 6 months, one year, or two years and is a one off payment.

No one will look down upon you if you don't donate.
I'm on the forum since 2009 and 2012 was the first time I donated anything.

Correct. And at the end of the term, the system will ask you if you wish to renew, you can choose to continue to support Subsim or decline.
