Not sure what's going on but here is my mod list. Very small, works great as it is.. GWX, wonderful all around, FM interior looks really cool. The flags work... still uses what looks like the original periscope views..
GWX - Merged Campaign GWX - 16km Atmosphere GWX - Open Hatch Mod GWX - Enhanced Damage Effects GWX 3 Wilhemshafen,St Naz,Schluese and xtra ships V6 GWX_DFa-Flag&Pens_2010 FM_NewInterior v2.1D However, now that I want to install one of the really nice interface mods such as MaGui, Hitman, or hsGUI, no matter what order I put things in, it seems like I get an extra vertical line in the periscope and UZO views. It's hard to explain but it looks as if there are two periscope scales and one is offset to the left. I don't have a screenshot but it definitely is not right. I've tried going back and installing these mods in different orders, I just don't know what else I can do. I don't mind the original periscope/UZO models but some of the newer mods look so nice! Any advice? Does my list look like there would be a problem adding one or more interface mods? Jeff |

Hi jscharpf,
Most GUI's modify the Camera.dat and and move the field of view, slightly to one side so as to fit the graphics in better. If this file gets overwritten then this can be lost, so giving the double line. I'd say looking at your mods that FM_NewInterior v2.1D Camera.dat is overwriting the GUI your trying to instal. |

Thanks for the reply badwolf. I'm a little confused now. The Fm mod didn't seem to cause any problem. With the mod list shown I have no issues but just the default scope views. If I add any other mod to this then I get the double line. Should I remove the camera.dat file from any new mod before installing? Would this mess up the mod? Sorry I'm not good at this but I will try a few more times. I love the hitman mod and really want to use it but I don't want to lose the Fm mod because when I remove that I lose ability to move onship. Guess I'm spoiler and need to just decide lol

Hmm, loaded up your mods list in the same order and found a lot more conflictions than expected.
1/. GWX 3 Wilhemshafen,St Naz,Schluese and xtra ships V7 overwrites GWX - Merged Campaign (Campaign_RND.mis & Campaign_SCR.mis) 2/. FM_NewInterior v2.1D overwrites GWX_DFa-Flag&Pens_2010 (Commands_de.cfg & Commands_en.cfg) 3/. FM_NewInterior v2.1D overwritesGWX - Open Hatch Mod (NSS_Uboat7_CR.cam & NSS_Uboat7_CR.dat & NSS_Uboat7_CT.cam & NSS_Uboat7_CT.dat & NSS_Uboat7_RR.cam & NSS_Uboat7_RR.dat & Cameras.dat) 4/. FM_NewInterior v2.1D overwrites GWX 3 Wilhemshafen,St Naz,Schluese and xtra ships V7 (Sh3.sdl) Now these conflictions may not seem to change anything, until you find you can't say raise the flags with GWX_DFa-Flag&Pens because FM_NewInterior v2.1D has changed the Commands_en.cfg. Badwolf is correct. An important file is being over-written and to correct it you must merge the file (?files) correctly to preserve both mods.

Ok I figured out what happened and I'm an idiot!
![]() Hopefully others may learn from this.. a major DOH!! When I moved some of the mods into the MODS directory, I didn't pay attention to the subdirectory structure and was moving a folder that was "two layers deep". For example let's say I downloaded a MOD called "New Something".. well.. after unzipping I had the following: "C:\New Something\New Something" . So for my problem, I had downloaded a patch for the FM interior that was supposed to be installed after MaGUI. The folder was \MODS\FM_NI_Fix_for_MaGui F\FM_NI_Fix_for_MaGui F\.. So I just made sure that there was only one level of directory. I hope this makes sense Now everything works! |

Thanks for the explanation. A lot of the time someone gets their problem fixed and never says what it was. Your taking the time to explain is a great help.
