The last few games I have played have had no Gatos.
They went from a Tambor to a Balao in one move. First, TMO 2.5 with Traveller Mod 2.6 Second, TMO with RSRD Third, Just TMO 2.5 And yes I had the TMO fix applied. What gives? ![]() |

Talking about being offered a new command? Going from Tambor to Balao, skipping the Gato? May depend on the date, not sure. Could be a bug.

Well I use to have the same problem as everyone else with TMO 2.5 in that once you got a Tambor you were stuck with it for the rest of the war.
But the "Fix" mod seems to have fixed that. Now something else has started this problem. ![]() |

I started with SubPac in mid 43 with a Gato class (USS Gunnel) and after my 3rd patrol (Jan 1944) got offered a new shiny sub.....which I of course accepted!
Imagine my indignation when it turned out to be a Tambor class (USS Thresher)! TMO 2.5 Improved Stock Enviroment v3 TMO RSRD TMO v502 RSRD v5xx patch 1 Guess Uncle Charlie isn't too happy with my tonnage after all! Last edited by Scurvy Dawg; 09-02-13 at 05:56 PM. |

Its still there, I started a career in '42 and took the Gato as command. Gave me the USS uglyfish...ok jk its the USS Greenling (which is U-G-L-Y)

It is normal for SH4 to give you a BALAO class from a TAMBOR or GAR class occasionally 'skipping' the GATO class based on timing, how well your patrols went, and other factors.
Be sure to install the small patch ( 1_TMO_25_small_patch.rar ) that fixes the TAMBOR bug donna52522 mentioned. If you want to play the TAMBOR campaign just deactivate the small patch before you begin the T campaign/career with JSGME. ( 1_TMO_25_small_patch.rar ) [ http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/down...o=file&id=3506 ] Happy Hunting!

If you use the Terrible T campaign you will/might run into a 'time warp'. To have a Tambor for the entire career DO NOT use the Small Patch and start a normal career with a Tambor, you will have it for the entire war. You can also start with any class boat and be upgraded to a Tambor for the remainder of the war.
I believe with the Terrible T campaign, somewhere in late 43 or early 44, depending when you get back to your home port, you will be warped back to mid 1942.
