there is always the argument that drafts are a bad idea for sports: http://online.wsj.com/article/SB1000...sj_share_tweet

But I disagree, I believe the current talent model works great

One more piece of brilliance from Belichick.

No - he won't replace Brady or Mallet - but he comes cheap and if there is ANYONE who can use Tebow's talent in the NFL - its the mastermind.

I can't see Belichick taking him on as a backup QB only. That's what the local news is reporting they signed him as but i'm expecting Bill to use him in a variety of roles.

There's absolutely no way that Belichick is going to become a wildcat convert, and for good reason -- that crap just doesn't work in the NFL. That's going to put Tebow as No. 2 at best, which he has not been happy with and is likely a major reason for his departure from New York (http://www.nydailynews.com/blogs/jet...-opportunities). So, Tebow again "wants a chance" but has (also again) come to the wrong place to get it. Belichick is not one of those Andy Reid lovey-dovey coaches that caters to his players' every whim. He runs a tight ship with a firm hand; a formula that has worked for him. I don't see him changing that for some Johnny-come-lately prima donna. So, barring some catastrophic career-ending injury or sudden retirement, I expect to see Tebow in yet another uniform in September 2014.

Well, that's just it. The coaching staff at NE doesn't tolerate that kind of crap. I think what we'll see is more of pouty Tebow all dejected on the sideline while Tom Brady goes out and does Tom Brady stuff. Tebow will shut up at the first nasty look.

Tebow: "I'm ready coach. Put me in. Give me a chance."

Belichick: "I'll initiate conversation if we need to speak about something."

Tebow: "Yes sir." **sits back down on the bench**

You might be right but I think we'll still see him out on the field just not as QB. Tebow has to know that his NFL career is finished if he insists on playing that position only. I'm thinking they'll try to use him as a sort of hybrid Tight End, especially if the Gronk stays injured. They'll have to work on his catching ability though.

you guys are missing the obvious, the patriots are in desperate need of a good backup tight end and tebow fits that mold. he knows the offensive mindset and is built like a running back, the only question is can he be an effective blocker.

a lot of talk during the draft was will a team want to bring him in to make him a running back but tight end is a better fit for large quarterbacks who cant play quarterback anymore
