Not so much to discuss it, course, some well, but wonder if it's effecting anyone as of yet. I've read several stories of rates going up for those already on insurance by their employer. My brother called, his insurance went up $2K a year with less benefits, his employer said blame it on Obamacare. My nephew was informed by his employer is dropping insurance alltogether. Our plan doesn't renew until Nov, so it's will be interesting.

My family is seeing deductibles go up about 100-300%, depending upon what type of insurance, and what coverage rate is chosen.
I myself am on Medi-Cal (Medicaid) and Medicare, so not much has changed on my end. Though a few years back, they slashed the Durable Medical Equipment coverage and severely changed guidelines. Apparently, I can get a power wheelchair, but I'm on my own if I need a manual (backup) wheelchair. I'll see if I can gather up some local figures from friends and family. I've heard from a lot of people that they're starting to shell out over a thousand bucks a month for coverage, so I'm willing to say that there are definitely people out there feeling it.

This is not going to end well at all... That's my only polite thought on this topic.

It seems to me that any time the government gets involved in something, all they manage to do is muck it up royally. Health care is no exception.
Who's going to benefit from this law that will force everyone to have health insurance? Insurance companies. It damned sure isn't for our benefit because we'll pay for it through the nose. Either with the exorbitant premiums or in added taxation penalties. Soak the torches and sharpen your pitchforks. We're going after Dr. Frankenstein's monster come next June. ![]() I just got a COLA increase on my disability the first of the year and it was instantly gobbled up by increased Medicare premiums. We can show them 'tards what's what by expiring or absolute refusal to obey this ignorant garbage piece of legislation.

![]() Obamacare will ensure the bankruptcy of the US. Simply put "we can't afford it." That's why the government is loading up on ammo. When you give handouts to millions and then take them away...it's going to get ugly. ![]() |

Not me, I'm getting right in there. Soon as they open the line, I'm signing up. I'm too healthy for any disability, and too motivated for welfare. But Obamacare will beat my current insurance provider. And I want my bit of the government dole that most everyone has going for them now.
If this new system works, yay. If not, let's see if we can crash it. Maybe Sweden knows something we don't.... .

Ahh, I found another link about it from a different news source than I usually use. Took a bit of Googling to find the correct headline.
Report: Obamacare Loophole to Hammer Low-Wage Workers http://townhall.com/tipsheet/guybens...rkers-n1620803 The scariest part about this is that I keep seeing articles of this nature. How there are hidden taxes that will kick in, or how the coverages will not be as good as those provided under the current system, or how businesses can avoid coverage for their workers through loopholes that govern how many workers a business needs before mandatory coverage kicks-in. I honestly don't know what to believe and apparently, neither do the alleged experts, but I guess we're going to find out whether we sink or swim. ![]()

What would be really scary is going to townhall.com and not finding it full of stories about how team D is really very naughty. I suppose the real beauty is that the problems all relate to the soft deal given .to insurance and industry which came as a compromise mess instead of the single payer universal healthcare which was proposed |

In the original article, there was an ending comment by one of the Democrats (can't remember who) who said something to the effect that this might have been avoided if the original bill hadn't been rushed through and there had been more time to deliberate over it's finer points. It was by the Associated Press but I can't seem to find the original article.

Good luck finding any truth in the manure pile that's been shoveled by both sides regarding this thing.
The only thing I know is that insurance companies are licking their chops. They wrote the bill.

That article is a year old, but next year today's scandal's of tea party, NSA, AP phone records among other scandals will be a year old. What happens then? My concern is all of the handicap people that had no insurance are already on the Obama health care plan and it would be a real shame to take them back off insurance again. It's that darn $200 a month they want and the extra 13,000 IRS agents that want my bank account information ... not to mention the $50 penality for missing an appointment that is already part of medicare, yeah it's true and the $35 fee from your bank for being overdrawn unless you have $400 in your banking account at all times to draw on. There is some hope to stopping the Obama health care plan before it can become law in January 2013 with a majority vote in the Senate. Mass has a special election next week: Senate in the June 24, 2013 special election … http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2013...in-final-days/ NJ just annouced a special election for October Gov. Chris Christie’s decision to hold a special election for U.S. Senate in October http://www.nj.com/politics/index.ssf...o_october.html and I suppose the rest of the senate races are in November ... |
