Default Amazon Subsim link question

This is mainly for Neal I recon.

The Amazon link do I have to click it and then select whatever it is I want to order or can I click on the link and select something from my wish list or something already in my cart but not yet ordered?Or does it matter?

I'm just wondering I order a lot of books from Amazon.I try to remember using the Subsim link but sometimes I forget and I have in the past simply not ordered and kept the page open and opened another page to Amazon via the Subsim link then I order from that page.

As far as I know, anything you put in your cart and buy during the browsing session you started from the Subsim link counts. To be safe, if I'm buying something I already placed on a list there, I just copy/paste the item number into Amazon's search bar and "find" its page again, and add it to my cart from there.

I do the same thing - I'll find something on Amazon without going through Subsim, or decide to finally buy something on my wish list. I'll open another tab or window and use Subsim to get to Amazon again in that tab/window, and place the order from there. Seems to work as Neal has never mentioned not getting credited for a purchase I've reported.

Yep, same here. If I know what I want I go to Subsim and open the link. If I just happen to be browsing and see something I want, I'll go to Subsim and re-open the link from there. Works every time.

I was fairly sure that it works as long as you start from the link because it has to track when you actually order something not when you add to cart because simply adding to cart is not a sale Amazon wants to see that the link actually generated a sale which makes the advertising beneficial to Amazon and in turn they pay the person providing the slot on their site.

This is my assumption anyway.

Just as long as you start your order process from the link.

I think that is correct, it's why we started the whole Goodies of the week! Subsim store and Amazon thread, to spot check and make sure Amazon is not failing to credit us for the purchases.

thanks!
Neal
