CAN I CHOOSE MY SUB?

Hi Guys
I saw this VIIB in the download section, thought great, until I saw no deck gun. 20mm and 37mm flak guns. How are you going to sink a surface vessel with these pea shooters?.
My question is can you choose your uboat and if so, how do you do it.

There is a mod that allows you to start with a 7B, but I'm not
sure how well it works now.
