Default Mystery drone at JFK airport

http://gizmodo.com/5988643/plane-pas...-over-brooklyn

I can't say I'm surprised, this sort of thing is going to become pretty common place as drone technology becomes more accessible to the public, which brings up an important safety aspect in dealing with drones on aircraft flight paths. It will be interesting to see who was flying this drone and why.

It all began years ago when a camera was attached to a a D sized rocket motor attached to a rocket crafted by a kid in his backyard. I suspect you are right that more and more will be seen.

I flew my first free flight model plane (way before R/C came out) back in 1956.

It was fun to fly till one day it got caught up in a thermal layer over the Waco airport ... still don't know where it came down.

also I saw a sheriff out of Bolder, Colorado pull a drone out of the trunk of his car to track suspect illegal aliens on the run.

Someday even the smugglers will use them to drop the white powder stuff over the Rio Grand down Texas way ...

they could even use a drone to track the US Border Patrol to see where they before they cross the border.

This is the one I want to as soon as I can afford it that is: around $200 without engines or R/C controler

If the government doesn't then big business will...in fact the government will probably wind up having to buy or lease the information from big business eventually. That's just how the world is going, there is no way to stop this freight train.

I foresee a lot of people spying on their neighbours, who then may find it on the internet .. end of privacy.

Which brings me to a much more important issue: How do you down drones.
I have some ideas, and some electronic gadgets to try it out. It works on radios and electronics in cars, just the range ...

Hey, what porno movie is on? Why the couple next door.

Now the pervs with a drone can get in real close, record and hold their joystick all at the same time. Technology. Got to love it.

I don't think so ... too many nuts out there with guns to get even with a neighbor that tattle tells on them, unless they make it annoymous of course.

I wrote a fictional account of how this could happen in America, called

"It's Not Over Till the Smoke Clears"

How about how an entire city starts shooting at each other like in the old hatfields/mccoy days like they use to do. They shoot everything in sight, untill the national guard has to be called in to clean up the mess.

What started it?

A new (remember this is fictional) reward for information plan had been instituted in the city to inform on your neighbor rewarding them with a $50 wal-mart cash card for anyone with the right serial numbers (key code) given to the informant on the phone. They just check in at the counter and give them the number and Wal-mart gives them the cash card.

The hatfields caught their neighbor mccoy's at a Wal-mart using a $50 cash card and their son had just been nabbed by the police for marijuna.

The shooting starts in the parking lot untill the whole small town in South Carolina is at odds with each other.

Crazy idea I know, but it could work you know giving out cash cards for tattle tells ...

so much for fiction

as for bringing the drones down the internt will probably have that information up and running any time soon, sort of like how to build your own nuclear device is online somewhere.

ECM and ECCM counter measures will probably be enough to prevent it.

You may be right but that is no reason to surrender to it.

Oppose it. Advocate for laws banning the collection of it or restrict access to it. Anything but roll over and let them ram it to you because all that does is encourage them to do more of it.

But do you really think that a) there are enough of you to make a difference and/or b) you will be listened to?
