Ok, so I recently got star shells back into my game which was a headache but worth it because I really like the star shells even though they are suicide on patrol. I usually launch them around home port and just for fun. But I was wondering what I need to edit to reduce the range of star shells? And what do I need to edit to increase/decrease their burning time? I'm trying to make it so they explode sooner (short distance/range) and burn a little longer.

Shells.sim
Detonation range is set for 6000. Burn time and such is in the particles.dat Burn time is set for 60 seconds. Next question? ![]() |

![]() Ok, my next question is what hex value do I need to edit in the Shell.sim file? I think I'll leave the particles.dat alone. 60 seconds is fine. I would just like to shorten the distance/range of the star shells in the shell.sim file. Last edited by garren; 03-04-13 at 01:21 AM. |

Open Shells.sim with S3D and change this setting.

Are these things historical, and if so, does anyone know how they were used? |
