Default Recognition manual filter

Hi all -

I'm confused by the recognition manual filters. I try to thin the selections out by matching features and I inevitably wind up with no matches. For example, when I run the Torpedo Tutorial the target (based upon videos I've seen) is a Liberty Cargo. Yet, when I attempt to match the characteristics I see (single stack, plumb bow, center island), I wind up with no matches.

Is this broken or a user issue?

Thanks!

Mike

If you are using New UI's, recognition manual filters are probably broken. You can try this fix, but beware that it wasn't fully tested. If you decide to enable it, keep us informed on any adverse effect

to my knowledge filter's are not working properly. I believe about 3-4 month ago there was someone who took it upon themselves to correct it and there was a semi-fix, but I neither remember the name nor the exact date. It is possible its hidden within the TDW UI's thread, as that is the UI that was the fix for.
I'm pretty sure there haven't been any other fixes worked on for stock rec manual.

Thanks for the replies guys!

If I'm reading correctly, it appears to imply that the default recognition manual is incompatible with TDW's UI? Should I be using the black covered SOAN rather than using the red covered Recognition manual? Or are the filters for both 'broken'?

Since when I discovered the infallible ship recognition abilities that New UI's gives to our XO, my laziness prevailed and I stopped messing with the recognition filters. I am thus unable to give you an answer, but please keep us informed if you discover anything on this subject. Despite my propensity to cheats, I think that being able to manually recognize our targets is an important part of the game immersion

Gap -

that's gotta be the most subtle approach to 'go mess with it and find out for yourself!' I've ever seen!

you almost got it, but I would give the sentence a slightly different undertone:

'go mess with it and find out for us all!'
