Default Would you pay $160 to view London?

Well the folks who own the building in London called "The Shard" thinks people will. I believe that's a bit expensive!

Would I pay $160 to go to London and see the sights? In a heartbeat; that price is a steal. Would I pay $160 to go up the tower once there? No way.

Free enterprise. If they can find customers willing to pay $40-$140 to go up that building, more power to them.

I would not pay that, but there may be others who would.

Does that include airfare?

Is that 160 in pounds Euros or dollars?

I saw the dollar sign, yea, but I just want to be sure.

I'll give 160 pesos for that, dollars? Uhhhh nope.

Great ploy though, I am sure with the Chunnel alot of overly rich Frenchies will jump on it, just so they can point at what they coulda owned if their navy was better back in the days.

Wat abaut tze germans?

Would you pay 160 to view a complete mess?

?

I d give 50 for romping freely about that british cruiser for a day.
Camping on duxford for a week and have free access to the exhibits, get inside every cockpit and sleeping on the grass under a Hurricane wing, i would give 300 for that.

160 for looking at a mess?
i don't need to leave house for that!

There are a lot of things I would love to see , including London!! But, wouldn't pay to go up that high in that building to see it,lol When I was 6 years old, my Father took our family on a trip to New York City. Got to go up to the top of the Empire State Building and look around. Only thing I remember is how much I wanted to get back down to the ground! It was 104 stories up IIRC, couldn't imagine being up higher then that. And I know NYC has buildings taller then that now, but you have to realize, this trip was back in 1956!

Actually it doesn't Not until the new WTC 1 is finished, anyway.

A lot of these tower visits are a rip-off. The one that I felt wasn't was the Rockafeller center in NYC. Cause you literally do go right to the roof of the building, and it's open-air, and the view is awesome. It did cost a bit to get up there, but it was a pleasant-enough location to hang out for a while. Now, if it had a rooftop bar up there, too, then I would probably never leave that place

Taking the cost of rail fares in the UK I'd certainly pay $160 to go and see London.....a steal at twice the price

No shame bro.

I was raised in that city, and my earliest fear was going up that elevator as a small child, my scary experience was in the WTC rather than the empire state building, but I understand.

Man I hate heights!

Back on topic, it costs way less to go up in the Sears tower, empire state, or space needle.

Way higher too!

But a great ploy to keep tourists away, I wish we would have thought of it here in the USA. Would keep all the tourists out of the city, nothing worse than some moron trying to stop and take a picture of a building in the middle of a sidewalk with hundreds of working people on it. (I invite you to NYC to experience this)

Yeah the buildings are huge, *click, shutter* now move it, most of us work, and got places to be.

I am sure Londoners feel the same. Take your pic and move, most of us got stuff to do!
