Welcome,

Where have you installed SH3 on your system ? If it is at C:\Program files it is a bad idea. Best thing to do is not to instal games at system drive C:\ at all.

Welcome aboard shipmate

Try load a previous save, preferably when you were in port.

Edit: After translating your crash log it appears this is a MSVCR71.dll error.

Information can be found here;

Best regards.

About saving careers in SH3 :-

Always Save .....on the surface, far from land, and with no objects (Ships,.. ect) in sight.
This means you have to choose your save positions carefully !!

It's just the recomendation NOT to do so in most savin procedures as probably the same is mentioned in GWX manual IIRC. However it is not realy an accurate warning. I have no problems reloading my carreer while submerged.
However if saved while other ships are within rendering range of about 25km, this can trigger CTD on the loading screen.

Your best bet in determining if units are in range is doing a hydrophone check manually. Listen to the sound yourself, instead of relying on the crew to report them. You may have to turn up the volume to hear clearly. (there is also a volume switch on the device itself)
