Having a great time with OH II.
Christmas and New Years, of 39, was spent at sea. Just finished the northern patrol and came back to base for much needed R&R. The crew was grumpy and I needed some fresh air. On the way back through we came across two freighters steaming along. I had no fish left and the wind was at 15 meters so the gun was pointless. I look for them on my way back in again ![]() It's now January of '40 so we are heading out to patrol the southern area off England. Ship smells much better and there is a stock of fresh food on-board. I see you've been busy as well! Nice stats! |

On a side note I have to post enough to ditch the present medic avatar. It's looks a bit like a James Bond that's a little light in his loafers.

![]() @ miltonfilhos Kaptain, your taking profit from a little disattention by Adm. Trevally, thus ignoring our order to proceed to Operation "Turning Point" is inacceptable. The brilliant achievements atteined by you during the first years of the conflict induced us not to bring you before court martial. Nevertheless, by express wish of the Fuhrer himself, you are condemned to restart your career from Operationsbefehl "Coastal Waters" OKM ![]() |

My first patrol was to find and sink polish ships in the Baltic region . Patrolled for 4 weeks and managed to sink 4 . The fog was bad 50% of the time and the ships were singles . Using sobers DOF mod so medium fog nights are dark and one time i needed to be within 50mts of the ship to see the flag because it was so dark .
Currently in coastal waters again . Fog medium and visibility was bad the entire patrol . Only way to find ships was with hydrophone . The good thing is no planes to worry about . Found a small unescorted convoy and managed to sink a few ships in the medium fog . They had no guns . Returned to port and ended patrol to use up some base time . Currently on my way back to coastal england to hopefully finish off my coastal waters mission . I decided not to accept the scapa flow mission , using TDW IRAI . Completed my eastern british coastal waters patrol . The weather was favourable and i found another unescorted convoy . Returned to willhelmshaven and was offered a new VIIB boat . Sailing to the northern approaches . Some difficulty in that the weather is bad with storm conditions and medium fog . Nights are getting longer and the search area is much larger . Travel distances are greater .

My Campaign Progress
I just finished the Operation Drumbeat campaign. It was pretty dicey there towards the end because i was in the Gulf of Mexico looking for tankers, i was getting worried cause i was down to 28% of fuel left and i couldn't get a resupply authorized. I assume it was cause i was in the gulf instead of on the East Coast. Well anyway i was getting desperate and decided to make my way east to try to meet up with a resupply boat or ship so i could continue my patrol. When all of a sudden i come across a Destroyer escorting 2 Cimmarron tankers about 250 Km west of Key West. I only had 3 fish left. I let the destroyer pass me and set up on the first tanker, i shot my first torpedo at his engine spaces and nervously waited. To my happy surprise the torpedo struck home and disabled his engines. I then moved towards the 2nd tanker and set up on him also in the engine spaces and fired my 2nd fish. I hit him just where i wanted too and disabled him as well. All the while the destroyer backtracked in an effort to find me.I setup on him with my last fish that thank GOD was in my stern tube, i waited for him to close to 700 meters and fired a down the throat shot at him and thankfully hit him with the torp. I waited for him to sink then surfaced and backtracked to the 2 tankers and finished them off with my deck gun. As soon as i sank the 2nd tanker to my relief i completed all required objectives and was rewarded with my 4th campaign being completed YES!!!! Now i am happily starting the Black Pitt Campaign and looking forward to finally being able to participate in wolfpack tactics. Wish me luck my fellow captains!
