Default Seafloor topography?

Is it possible to make a MOD on a seafloor with a strongly varying topography for a local area of say 2*3km? I live at a place well known as a site ideal for hiding - used both during WWII and the cold war - a fjord on the Swedish västkust according to rumors secretly visited by both German, Russian and brittish subs. Inside the fjord you find several small areas with depths of 70m where subs shouldn't be find with WWII measures.

A MOD describing this area could be a fine add on to many thrilling patrols as it is very near where U-booten passed on there way to the atlantic.

So if its possible can anyone give a tip on how to get a start? Do I need better hardware for Modding than just playing SH3?

Welcome to SubSim EricWinter!

Regarding your thoughts on submarines in Swedish waters, this is no "rumors" but we can talk about that later, hardware does not play a decisive role in modding, it is safe to bring through if you know how to start, I'm not the right person to bring the dialogue but there are many here who have experience at modding.

1) Such a mod would be possible.
2) Actually, the hardware needed to mod this could be many times weaker than that needed to play the game.

A nice idea, but hiding on the sea floor in SH3 doesn't work like it did/could/should in real life.

Welcome aboard

The game sees through all terrain in SH3 and your boat takes damage whilst on the bottom although there is a mod that almost stops said damage occurring.
