I'm encountering a lot of crashes to Desktop. I'm on a rocking system, 16 GB RAM, GTX 570M. Is there a reason it keeps crashing? I'm on it through Steam.

Hi zinger,
It would help if you provided a bit more information like: 1. What Mods you have enabled 2. What version of SH4, Get the drift? the more info you can provide the easier someone can help out.

A lot of people experience CTDs because of inadequate memory. It's not about how much memory your system has or that you are running Windows 7 64-bit. SH4 is an old program, first released in 2007. The code doesn't know that the limit of available RAM has been extended beyond 2GB, so that's all it asks for. And 2GB is at times not enough, especially if you are running mods. So yu have to patch the SH4 cade to request more than 2GB. There are two ways to do this: Large Address Aware and "4GB Patch for SH4"
LAA can be found here: http://www.techpowerup.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=112556 4GB Patch for SH4 can be found here: http://file7file.com/33104039/4gb+patch+for+sh4+7z.html Either of these may solve your CTD problem. |
