Battlefield™ is celebrating its 10th Anniversary. Now available on Origin as a digital download for the first time, experience Battlefield 1942™, the game that started it all.
Original game description:
Relive the greatest war in history in Battlefield 1942. Experience the heat of battle as you heroically storm the beaches of Normandy, drive a tank across the deserts of northern Africa or pilot a fighter plane during the Battle of Midway. Choose your weapon and then jump into an all-out, raging firefight. From bazookas to battleships, a massive arsenal is at your command. Prepare to face the enemy in the air, in the deep and on the battlefield!
Game features:
  • Fight on to victory: Experience all-out combat in all four theaters: South Pacific, North Africa, Eastern and Western Europe.
  • Duke it out in huge online skirmishes: Go to war online with up to 64 players in one explosive online battle.
  • Turn the tide with grit and gunpowder: Take control of 35 machines of war. You'll pick up the sidearm of your choice and get behind the wheel of a variety of vehicles, ships, and aircraft to go to war on land, sea, and air during some of the most famous and pivotal battles of the Second World War.
We are now offering this all-time classic to all players for free! If you have any questions on this release of Battlefield 1942, check the FAQ below.

So what is it that I'm doing wrong??

I click on download but the only thing that happens-the screen so to say "jump up" and that's it.

I click on your link there I click on "Free Download" a new page open "origin.com" there I click on the download banner and the screen "jump up" I wonder if you have to be a member to access their demos??

Do you have Origin installed? It is required to download BF1942.

Bioshock is also available free from Gamefly.

Certainly worth the money.

(you need to install the Gamefly Client to get it)

OK Origin installed and have even become a member. The login in screen have now been active for an eternity and nothing happens I have written my mail address and my access code and pressed "log in" but I did that for about 30 minutes ago and nothing happen.

Usually a new page should open after I have pressed "log in" but the "log in" screen is still there nothing happens

Even if I can't get the game I will thank you for your help

I just have to forget everything about this free Battlefield and that because

1. I'm a really Internet-computer.....( I had a friend that helped me with everything-but I have moved)

2. I'm very bad at explaining my problems in english(technical)

I closed down my firewall-stil nothing.

But thanks anyway.

I found it but not though Internet.

On my desktop an Icon was there called Origin and by searching and a lot of clicking here and there I found it.

I would never have believed it was in the Demo section

Don't think so, and it's no longer a huge resource eater, either.
