Hi folks,
I was curious what was the moments that made you the most proud in all your careers? You can give maximum 3 feat of arms. For me it goes this way, considering i only play with 100% realism and GWX Gold : 1. I destroyed a Swordfish plane with the 105mm deck gun, at mid-long range. 2. I sunk the Queen Elizabeth in the middle of a convoy, for 90 000 tons and survived the 3 destroyers onslaught. 3. I passed the Wilhemshaven gates at ahead flank with barely a second left before the gates crushed the propellors of my boat. I then ordered back emergency and could stop the boat before sustaining any collision damages. ![]() Alright, mock me as an audacious basterd if you will, but still, go ahead and share what you have done! ![]()

I did it on the third shot, without using the "binocular" view on the gun, just the red crosshair because you cant see the gun elevation good enough in the magnified camera.
The plane was also heading south while i was going north, so we were on a frontal collision course. The next part is when luck shine in ![]()

Last campaign I destroyed a Hunt I off the coast of Ireland after it sighted me. I tried to slip away S towards Spain but a hunter group caught me on the surface in the morning. Knew I was in for a whole day of "Depth charges in the water, sir!"
I was crash diving while taking fire from 2 Hunt I destroyers and a Flower class. Immediatly ordered the radioman to fetch my brown pants and then tried changing direction underwater before they could start depth charging. Didn't get far enough away from where I was sighted. The group had me locked in and they were taking turns doing depth charge runs on me(This group was scary efficient for 1941, probably experienced.) After taking charges and doing damage control for what seemed like an hour, I lost it and ordered my boat to go to periscope depth from 50m. When I got the right depth I noticed they weren't hitting me with sonar anymore. I was too shallow and outside their view. I fired an aft shot at a close Hunt I destroyer. I hit the rear (wheelhouse? if its in the back?) and blew up the ammo supply. Its back broke after secondary explosions. My luck started to improve and I got excited. Now I was hunting again instead of being hunted.... Except that I mised with all forward tubes while aiming at the 2nd Hunt I destroyer.... And I missed with the 2nd rear tube.... And I missed the Flower class with a sloppy rear shot that loaded 5 mins into the ordeal, after the single warship was sunk near Ireland. After ten minutes of hiding I had a torp in the bow again.... I tried concentrating on the solution better after all the misses, and I got lucky with a magnetic right under keel of the 2nd Hunt after it passed overhead from a depth charge run. I watched the Flower class with only a forward facing deck gun. Blew my ballast when its wheel house blocked it from firing at me. Crewed my deck gun before suffocation was about to set it and told the watch officer to let loose. I got lucky with a wheelhouse hit followed by lucky hit to the bow that destroyed the deck gun. That was my most memerable SH3 moment because I thought it was over, was at 20%~ hull integrity, got angry enough to almost surface(surrender) the boat, and still managed to turn the situation around. Got back to base and got a few iron crosses to hand out to my men, totaled six warships sunk on that patrol. ![]() |

Thats an impressive moment for sure. It's always nice when life grants you so much luck against those odds sometimes.

Best three? Launched four fish from the front at four diferent Large Merchants. All four hit for a keel break within 15 seconds of the first hit. ~50K sunk in under ten minutes? Thank you, buh-bye now!
Slunk into Scapa flow, sank 30 tonnes of warships and merchants, no one knew I was there. And most recently, sank a Revenge class warship. Her escorts did not like me and hunted me from the Rockhall bank to the English channel. |

On my last patrol, sank the Aquatania with one shot to the bow in the mid Atlantic while heading for my patrol grid between New York and Norfolk. Tried to enter New York harbour but it was teeming with destroyers, think there were 8 defending the entrance (march 1942). So went for a cruise down towards Norfolk, and sank 2 ceramic liners on the way. Infiltrated Norfolk Naval Base and found 4 destroyers, 3 liberty ships, a modern tanker, medium cargo, large tanker, floating dock, landing ship, troop ship and a ASW trawler. All went under with one (well placed) eel each. The Clemson destroyers were beautiful to watch getting hit, jumped about 10 feet in the air and broke in two
![]() James GWX 3.0 + Mods EDIT: And managing to sneak into the med, sink 25000 tonnes and sneak out again. Just did it for a laugh |

I think the most I ever did was pumping a Zaun-I out a stern tube at 70m at a Flower that had kept me down for something like 10 hours. Last act of defiance, and all that. It hit by some miracle, but I had almost no air reserve left, so it was 'Surface full ahead both' with crew passing out all the way up.
