Leaked Israeli Report Urges New Sanctions on Iran

Quote:
JERUSALEM — An internal report prepared by Israel’s Foreign Ministry calls for an additional round of international sanctions against Iran, an Israeli official confirmed on Thursday, in what appeared to be a rare Israeli acknowledgment that there might still be time to try to stop the Iranian nuclear program by means other than military action. Details of the report were leaked to Haaretz and were published on Thursday morning as the prime minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, was on his way to New York to address the United Nations General Assembly. An Israeli official who is familiar with the report, but was not authorized to speak about it to it publicly, confirmed the points that appeared in Haaretz. The Foreign Ministry report states that the international sanctions already imposed on Iran are having a deep effect on the country’s economy, according to the official, and may, according to some assessments, also be affecting the stability of the Iranian government. But the sanctions have not yet persuaded the government in Tehran to suspend its nuclear drive. Therefore, the report concludes that “another round of sanctions is needed,” the official said.

Sanctions work, unless you are Swiss!

Same country that hid and stole Nazi loot.

Oh the company is ran by a Brit!

Iran is the enemy?

I was more poking at the Swiss than the Brits. They play neutral while making money off both sides, they are even bigger cowards than Iran. Who at least has the balls to tell America where to stick it. My pointing out Mr. Taylor was not an attack on the Brits, though it certainly read like one.

I bet there is an American mixed in there somewhere. After all, money has no nationality in this modern world.

Sorry I chose a Turkish paper (nonpartisan), but it seemed more objective than anything our media could accomplish.

What is the harm in trading with them, besides pissing Israel off? Think about it, all this mess is about Israel. A fake country based on a holy book, with an unknown author.

Just saying.

Lets suppose this was true.

Why would they want nukes, to protect them from a neighbor who has them too?

Lets say Iran launched, it would in my opinion lead to a global thermonuclear war. As allies retaliate against each other, and China and Russia jump in simply for the excuse to nuke America. It would result in the same Mutually Assured Destruction (mad) that kept the Soviets and Americans from ripping each others heads off from the 1950s to the early 90s.

Iran is more rational than most ME countries. We only "hate" them because they talk bad about the Jews, and question if they belong there, which I do.

Do I need to be nuked or sanctioned?

Monkey man Mahmoud is a cancer, but I fear what would take his place. He at least has restraint.

Certainly wasn't offended by the inclusion of a Brit, it was a true fact after all and as you so rightly say "money has no nationality in this modern world".
