pc/hardware compatibility (and opinions)

It's been a while for me, but I do remember that SHIII does not work (or not well, at any rate), with certain video cards and hardware. My current rig is over 9 years old, and the hamster is getting a bit tired.

I'm looking at certain rigs with the below-mentioned specs. Will SHIII/GWX work with the video card/hardware?

Also, out of curiosity, would this be sufficient to adequately run SH5?

Danke!

Yes, more than enough for everything you want to run.

How very interesting. People have reported enough problems with nVidia cards in SH3 alone to fill more than a page of titles, none of which have happened with ATI cards. I guess different folks have different experiences. I've been using AMD ATI with SH3 for seven years now and have never noticed a problem.

He said the computers he is considering have those specs, not his 9-year-old rig.

I run two AMD ATI video cards in different computers with no problems, and I get the sun halo which Nvidia seems to have a problem producing. I also run Windows 7 Home Premium 64Bit, just be sure to not install SH3 in the default programs file.
