I've played the TDW torp tutorial mission several times and it has never put a sunk ship mark on the nav map after it has been sunk. I also do not get a radio message saying it has been sunk, however the captains log does record the kill as normal. I've now started a campaign and the first ship I sunk I again did not get a radio message and no sunk mark on the nav map, but again was given credit for it on my log. I thought I'd do a quick test and sailed straight for poland and sunk a destroyer, this time I did get a radio message and got a sunk mark with DM1 next to it.
Before I go too far with reinstalling etc, is this a common problem with the game, or with my particular mod soup/stew/casserole/stir fry? Might it be something to do with me using Open Horizons full rather than base+enviro as is on Sobers list? Code:

Thanks for replying, it doesn't appear to be game killing, I guess you just have to keep an eye on the TAI may for when the square/diamond ship icon disappears to see when it ha actually sunk, under deck gun fire especially. I guess it would be more of a problem if you were playing with real nav or no contacts on map. Glad it is a known issue and being looked into though, massive respect to the guys that do these mods.
One thing I have just rememeber though, I *think* the times when I have had it not put a sunk mark on the map I was actually submerged and not looking at the ship as it actually sunk, i.e. periscope was down, I was however looking at it with external camera. The destroyer I sunk I was looking at through the scope when it went down, don;t know if that has anything to do with it. Will do another test with the torp tutorial. |

It's issue from the New UIs by TDW...
Many of the sunk ships don't have destroyed marks but you still get credit for it in the captain's log.. ![]() And as said Trevally TDW knows about it.. EDIT: you also can remove data\Menu\Gui\Units\ShipDestroyed.dds from the mod and you always will see stock destroyed mark..

This is probably old news to you guys but I just did a test with the torp tutorial mission and I've found you appear to only get the radio confirmation and the sunk ship mark if you actually see the ship go down through the periscope, and I would assume also if you are surfaced. If the scope is down such that the square/diamond fades from the nav map, you do not get the radio message or sunk icon when it goes down.
BTW prior to this test I did a search and found out about the shipdestroyed.dds, I restored the original from a clean backup of SH5 prior to the above test, so it appears the glitch I am having is not actualy related to that. |
