Open Question for Cap'nScurvy

First, a salute to Cap'nScurvy for all the great mods he has made available to the community, both his own and reposts of other folks work which had become unavailable. Many thanks for hours of enhanced entertainment and a more enjoyable game.

Now the question: I noticed on the Downloads pages that OTC for RFB v1.4 was uploaded and made available in August 2011. RFB v2.0 was released in 2009. So I am wondering why RFB 1.4 was supported and not the newer version, which was then 2 years old? Does RFB 2.0 contain most of the same improvements? I know it doesn't have the range dial, which is a big help. Are the major optical changes already in RFB 2.0?

Whew! That's at least three questions. Well, I hope you"ll find the time to satisfy my curiousity. Thanks.
