Default Lance Armstrong ends fight against doping charges

Can't help but feel sympathy for this guy.

Did he ever provide a positive drugs test?

The guy retired last year so why the ongoing witch hunt?

Quote:
US cycling star Lance Armstrong has announced he will no longer fight drug charges from the US anti-doping agency, ahead of a Friday deadline.
In a statement, the 40-year-old maintains he is innocent, but says he is weary of the "nonsense" accusations.

Ridiculous

And I don't think the USADA has the authority to take away his TDF wins. I hope.

The latest I've read is that ten of his ex-team mates are willing to testify against him but there are concerns they have been offered 'inducements' to to so.

Being at the top for so much time is quite a telltale sign - talking only about that oxygen-rich blood factory the whole Tour de France has got to be, since it's the only cycling competition I know well enough to say it's the yearly big joke here. But since that guy seems to have finished first in other cycling competitions in the meantime ( ?) let's admit his heart wouldn't have been able to resist without drugs.

ROFL !

They all are doped. What I cannot stand is the hypocrisy and lying about it. That is where the real cheating is: in claiming shiny illusions to be real, preaching high morals while spending nights in a whorehouse.

Legalise doping in sports - and ban profitable commercial contracts being allowed to sign before five years after career's end. If then people still are stupid enough to risk their health for that three seconds of fame and glory, well - the world will survive it. And forget soon.

The real effort to be applauded lies in the years of training and discipline, and overcoming oneself in all that time. Whipping one'S own inner dog during the race, is just seconds, minutes, maybe one or two hours. Whipping one's inner dog day in day out, for years - that is where the battle is being lost or won.

We make too much a hype about it all, the shows, the moneys, the fame, the stars, the applaus. And that exaggerated attention is what has pushed things over the cliff.

Who knows what the truth is. As far as I've read he has passed numerous drugs test by different methods.

"He has consistently pointed to the hundreds of drug tests he passed as proof of his innocence while piling up Tour titles from 1999 to 2005. "

Whatever the future, crap like this can't go on year after year after year. If they can't prove it, the process needs to stop. Lance can clearly argue as he has, that the process for years is simply no longer worth it to him or his family.

The fans are left with no answers, did he cheat or was it a witch hunt. It will never be answered.

Now let's see if everyone goes after his money, which would be hard to do, because he still hasn't been found guilty.

Today's news shows he's a risk-taker, naming his book what he did.

That was risky. You might say it took ball(s).

Seems that Usada formally took his 7 tour titles and suspended him for life.

I guess that all the guys on the positions behind him are starting to shake now in fear that their own doping gets discovered. I don't think that any of the top 50 is without any form of "chemical support".
