Default Anne Frank betrayal suspect identified after 77 years

A new investigation has identified a suspect who may have betrayed Anne Frank and her family to the Nazis.

The Jewish diarist died in a Nazi concentration camp in 1945, aged 15, after two years in hiding.

Her diary, published after her death, is the most famous first-hand account of Jewish life during the war.

A team including an ex-FBI agent said Arnold van den Bergh, a Jewish figure in Amsterdam, probably "gave up" the Franks to save his own family.

The team, made up of historians and other experts, spent six years using modern investigative techniques to crack the "cold case". That included using computer algorithms to search for connections between many different people, something that would have taken humans thousands of hours.

Van den Bergh had been a member of Amsterdam's Jewish Council, a body forced to implement Nazi policy in Jewish areas. It was disbanded in 1943, and its members were dispatched to concentration camps.

I think it said his family. I have no doubt there are millions of people in the world who would do the same.

I'm curious how you justify that comment. Where are the concentration camps and gas chambers?

It’s the history of mankind to single out people. From skin color, culture, looks, lifestyle, vax, anti vax, you name it. People always jumping on one bandwagon or another.

Think about it, how many American’s were prepared to let another go without medical care because they weren’t vaxxed? No different than the fella who turned in Ann Frankie. Cowards, unethical soulless animals.

Your right, unethical maybe, but soulless animals? Not really, fear of death, panic, and trepidation, make people do or say things they otherwise wouldn’t. “Deny them health care, deny them insurance, let them fend for themselves, mustn’t clog our hospitals, let them suffer!” Is I believe how it went.

WWII was full of mans inhumanity to their fellow men when imforming on someone who hides Jews in safe houses .
Or your next door neighbours that you have lived next door to for twenty plus years before WWII started and you are aware that the wifes great granmother was half jewish but your nextdoor neighbour had not declared that in May 1940 to the Germans that have now Occupied Holland and by the autumn of 1944 the daily food ration was cut to 25% of what it was in May 1940.
Whats a human life worth a bar of soap 50 grams of coffee and 50 grams of sugar 200 grams of cheese a small loaf two eegs when you and your family are on the verge of starving would you sell your next door neighbour down the river for an extra days food.
The Winter of 1944-45 was very cold there was no coal the dutch miners and railway workers were on strike trees were cut for fire wood but the German put a stop to that all the cows had been shipped to Germany basically anything that the Germans could use was shipped to Germany large areas of Holland were flooded to stop allied glider landings so there was very little wheat and what wheat there was was shipped to Germany.

In the siege of Lenningrad by autumn 1941 Russians were eating wall papper paste and boiled bark of birch trees and as winter arrived starvation took hold Russian were cutting soft flesh of warm corpses that had just died in the snow.

Ho WWII and the stead fast gallant British one of the victorious powers but in victory your side does not get charged with war crimes
when the war ended on 8th of May 1945 the British handed over four hundred thousand Russian prisoners that fought for the Germans in France as labourers guards dont think they saw any fighting but they were all liquidated with their families by Russian NKVD squads.

On the 8th of May 1945 Allied Bombers filled the sky over holland loaded with food that they dropped on dutch fields to the population.
In war the first caualty is humanity and the moral high ground aint it just.

Well said. That is how tyranny flourishes, divide, prevent unity through fear, get people to turn on their fellow citizens etc. Getting pretty terrible in the US, but seems it is worse in places like Australia etc. I have a colleague who from Brisbane originally, they things he tells us, first hand accounts from relatives still there, the videos posted backing these accounts up. Horrible.

Honestly, they are not here...yet, or that we know of. I don't believe it will come to that (in the US anyways) as have not seen evidence indicating this, but also I will not be shocked if camps become a thing in other places, or even in the US.

The irrational, fear driven mentalities among the masses that lead to "others" being put into camps and genocide at previous times in history, is out there and quite prevalent. We saw what happened to Japanese Americans during WW 2, put into camps due to a "emergency" and the Supreme Court in the infamous Korematsu decision said it was legal(!). The sitting President of the USA on numerous occasions has singled out those who decline the shot as the problem, ignoring facts that contradict that. They tried, through executive fiat to violate the body autonomy of millions of people and the Supreme Court, split the baby. Now, millions of healthcare workers have to choose between their careers and their health rights. There will be a even great shortage of healthcare workers in coming years because of this.

I do not assign too much blame to Biden, he was never intelligent to begin with, just typical DC clown, and now he is just a senile old man, a martinet with his strings being pulled by others. However, those pulling the strings are showing a truly dangerous side, and it would be naïve to think we are somehow immune from things escalating to camps etc.

There's a serie on our Viasat History channel called War Crime.
It has nothing to do with war crime committed by the military it's about crime committed by ordinary people during WWII.

From what I have learned by watching some part of this series is that People in war zones didn't take morality so high as they would in peacetime.

There were many types of crime they looked through the fingers as long they could get a part of it. Smugling was one of them.

Ignoring the conspiracy theoreticists above, I go back to the topic: there is doubt expressed over that the claimed story is true. A shaky house of cards, it gets called.
